A large mound, 35m in diameter and about 1 meter high was observed in the garden of a house to the north-east about 120m away. This is not of modern origin and it has been suggested that this may be the remains of an unknown barrow, which could have formed the focus for the later cemetery (TR 14 SE 12).(1)
