Summary
Open and redundant sand and gravel quarry to the west of large pit (TQ 57 SW 239) on Dartford Heath. The quarry predates the OS first edition and remains in use (periodically or on low scale of extraction) right up until the 1930s. The quarry sides and base are overgrown and covered by a relatively dense scrub and small trees. A vehicular/haulage route to the quarry, adopting one of the many tracks that formerly ran across the heath, still survives to the west.

Open and redundant sand and gravel quarry to the west of KN727 on Dartford Heath. The quarry predates the OS first edition and remains in use (periodically or on low scale of extraction) right up until the 1930s. The quarry sides and base are overgrown and covered by a relatively dense scrub and small trees. A vehicular/haulage route to the quarry, adopting one of the many tracks that formerly ran across the heath, still survives to the west.
Recommendations: Preserve by record. Survey to fully record the quarry prior to any future development.(1)
