[TQ 7732 5563]. Roman Burial Ground [R] (1) A Roman cemetery discovered c. 1733 in Vinters Park opposite Turkey Mill, is vaguely recorded. Several Ro. urns, coins etc. are mentioned as "having been turned up at Grove (See TQ 75 NE 3) and Vinters, most of the coins inscribed Adrian." The published site lies within a long disused sandpit which is overgrown and waste. (Note: The site was first published on 2nd Ed. 25" 1897) (2)
