In store in Maidstone Museum is a type 6 Viking bearded axe, found in January 1937 by Mr. Morris (builder) at TQ 7678 5749 in his garden at 22 Sandling Lane. The axe is in a heavily corroded state. (No accession number). Mr. Morris has left the district and the present occupier knew nothing of the find. (1)
