About 8 years ago (1711) a Roman urn was found near the famous vein of fullers earth, the parish of Boxley. (1) [TQ 78295610] Sited by correspondent. (2) Two Romano British burials with cinerary urns, samian dish, other vessels and a small phial were found in 1721 at Grove Green. [Probably the same area as 1 and 2] (3) The clay pit, now overgrown and within a wood, is centred at TQ 7824 5610. The present location of the find could not be ascertained.
