Summary

Site of the Benedictine Priory and church given to the monks by William de Averenches in 1139. The monks had moved from their original site within the Folkestone castle (TR 23 NW 53) and the site of St Peter's nunnery (TR 23 NW 48). It was at first an alien priory by this status changed in 1399. The priory survived until 1535. The extent of the site and any remains are not known.

Site of the Benedictine Priory and church given to the monks by William de Averenches in 1139. The monks had moved from their original site within the Folkestone castle (TR 23 NW 53) and the site of St Peter's nunnery (TR 23 NW 48). It was at first an alien priory but this status changed in 1399. The priory survived until 1535. The extent of the site and any remains are not known.

A medieval masonary wall found at 8 The Bayle probably formed part of one of the monastic buildings (TR 23 NW 168)(1-15).
