Summary

Newnham pumping station consists of several structures. There is a large red-brick pumphouse with a tiled roof, which is maintained and still in use. Across the central porch is written "The Mid Kent Water Company1937". To its rear is a 1930s water-softening plant built of reinforced concrete, which is now disused. To one side is a pair of semi-detached houses which are possibly still inhabited. There is also a single-storey filterhouse which is in poor condition.

Large red brick pumphouse with tiled roof and round headed windows, central porch emblazoned " The Mid Kent Water Company 1937", maintained and in use. To rear is 1930's water softening plant constructed of reinforced concrete. To side is a pair of semi-detched houses and two large circular tanks. To one side is a single storey workshop/filterhouse in poor condition.(1).
