Summary

Along the inner side of the north-west boundary of the outer court is a large earthen bank inplaces 2m high. THese is no trace of this ditch on the south side of the site although it may have been destroyed in the past. It is suggested that this bank could be a rabbit warren for the priory as it was recorded in Hasted that the priory was in possession of "20 pairs of coneys" at the time of dissolution.
