Land to the E of The Street, Preston was subjected to arch trial trenching prior to housing development. Most of the site was devoid of finds except trench 5 in the SW corner of the site. The S end of trench 5 contained a large rectangular pit dated from 1 sherd of C4 pot found on the surface of the fill. An Un burnt clay hearth sealed the pit and both were cut into by a modern feature. (1)
