Buckland is first mentioned in a Charter of 898 A.D., found by Wallenberg,and it is also identified as 'de Bocland' in 1226 and as 'de la Bokeland' in 1240. It is during this time that the small farmstead settlement of little Buckland Farm originated. May also want to see TQ 75 NW 130.(1)
