Summary

The cropmark of a possible Iron Age settlement enclosure can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2011. It is situated on the eastern slope of a coombe on the eastern edge of Gravesend The enclosure is curvilinear on all but its eastern side which is straight and aligned north-south. There is an entrance on the western side circa 5.5m wide (looking into the coombe). The cropmark of the ditch is between 2.6m - 3m wide and defines an interior up to 42m by 42m. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

rectangular enclosed settlement with entrance only, sited at TQ 6716 7247 from good quality air photograph. Interpreted as Iron Age (site no. KE 137.1.1) (1-2)

The sites was examined in aerial photographs by Historic England during the Hoo Peninsula Historic Landscape project and seen to be circular with an entrace to the west (3)
