Summary

When outbuildings were demolished at Yotes Court Farm, the site of an animal manure pit next to a former byre were revealed. The pit is oval, lined with brick originally. A sloping chute is cut into one side with the former byre adjacent and a low wall on the other side. The sides had been sealed with lime mortar and were 2m deep. There was a drain along the centre of the pit. It is presumed to be of 19th century origin.

Site animal manure pit next to former byre at Yotes Court farm. Pit covered by outbuilding, now demolished. Oval plan pit lined with brick originally not covered by an out. Sloping chute cut into one side with former byre wall adjacent and low wall on other side. Sides sealed with lime mortar and 2m deep. Drain channel along centre of pit. Presumed to be of C19 date.
