Monument details

HER Number:TQ 66 SE 31
Type of record:Findspot
Name:Iron Age potin coin, Halling

Summary

A Celtic potin coin from the Iron Age was found in Halling in 1984. It was identified as similar in type to a coin previously found at Boxley by the same person, on the basis of its bull decoration. A member of the Ashmolean Museum thought the Boxley example to be a very early British version of a cast coin on the Gallic model.
