[TQ62475885] Moat [NR] (1) Moat Farm, Wrotham. Little trace remains of the once considerable moating round the enclosure. (2) The remains of this homestead moat comprise the SE arm only, waterfilled and overgrown; of the other arms there is now no trace. Within the moat is a nondescript building, now business premises, described as 'Moat Farm Hotel', with the usual claims to antiquity. (3) Checked and corrrect except that the moat is now dry. Published 25" revised. (4) This feature now consists of a single channel of water; the moat itself now being dry and overgrown. TQ 623588.
