Summary

Early Medieval / Anglo-Saxon cemetery of 70+ graves, 11 recorded. In 1997 feildwork ahead of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link by Wessex Archaeology established the existence of a C7th cemetery. Previously c.1884 Finds including an Anglo-Saxon disc brooch possibly from a burial and 1984 a square headed brooch were found. In 2003 further graves sites were found.

Early Medieval / Anglo-Saxon cemetery of 70+ graves, 11 recorded. In 1997 feildwork ahead of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link by Wessex Archaeology established the existence of a C7th cemetery. Previously c.1884 during the construction of the Gravesend - Swanley railway. Finds including an Anglo-Saxon C5-6th copper alloy disc brooch possibly from a burial and in 1984 a square headed brooch were found. In 2003 a further 4 graves sites and 2 cremations , not excavated near to the original site.were found.
