The vessels from this site are thought to be products of a local pottery industry, and it is possible that the poppy beakers are local products also. (1) A diminutive vessel in soft grey paste, now burnt pink, with upright rim and cordon at the base of the neck; to all intents and purposes the form of this vessel is that of a `poppy-head' beaker, and it is not unlikely that its present colour is due to much burning.
