A large Roman pit or unlined well was discovered during ditch digging operations undertaken at Springhead. It is situated close to the line of Roman Watling Street and may be associated with several roman features within its immediate vicinity. The pit/well was just under 1m in diameter and three meters deep. No further information about the feature is known, including information about its fills. (1)
