The possible site of a Roman building was discovered in an area close to the branch road connecting the Roman settlement at Springhead with Watling Street at Springhead. The presence of the building is inferred from the discovery of a chalk floor. Little is known about the structure but it is possible that it was a timber building and was relatively small, it may have had some ancillary function such as storage. (1)
