During excavations carried out by the Museum of London Archaeology ahead of development at Swanscombe Community School, a small Roman building was uncovered within a walled enclosure. It consisted of a 3.5m square flint and mortar foundation with a linear feature running around its north, south and eastern sides. The building was quite small and isolated so may not be domestic. The near central location within the enclosure possibly means it was of special significance so may be a shrine or part of a temple. (1-3)
