During evaluation trenching and excavation ahead of development at Springhead, a number of mid-late Iron Age features were uncovered including a roundhouse. This was uncovered within the interior of a Late Iron Age enclosure, close to its northern side. The structure had a diameter of c.10m. The function of both the roundhouse and the enclosure in which it is situated is not clear, stock control, settlement or a ceremonial function are all a possibility. (1)
