During excavations ahead of development at Springhead an area of early Bronze Age activity was identified. Within this a small and truncated un-urned cremation burial was uncovered. This contained 134g of cremated human bone which represents the remains of an adult. Though un-urned cremation burials are generally indicative of middle or later Bronze age funerary practices, the spatial location of this feature close to other features of Neolithic or Early Bronze age date is unlikely to be coincidental.
