Summary

Excavation in 2000-2002 revealed a group of features that probably belonged to the same complex which is likely to have originated in the 1st century and continued in use into the mid-Roman period. These included a several small shallow pits which lay in the vicinity of and were likely associated with an Early Roman timber structure. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)

Excavation in 2000-2002 revealed a group of features that probably belonged to the same complex which is likely to have originated in the 1st century and continued in use into the mid-Roman period. These included a several small shallow pits which lay in the vicinity of and were likely associated with an Early Roman timber structure, including one which contained a notable concentration of finds and a neonate burial. These are largely concentrated to the north east of the building and all but two have an early Roman date. A gully To the north east perhaps forms a boundary to the area associated with the structure. (1)
