Site of British School for boys, set up by the British & Foreign Schools Society in about 1840, is shown on the 1862-75 map. The building continued to be used as a school, as shown on the 1897-1900 map. It was then demolished and replaced by the Board School and private residences, as shown on the 1907-23 and current O/S maps.
