The former National School for infants on Newington Road is shown on the 1862-75 map. The building continued to be used as a school, as shown on the 1897-1900, 1907-23 and 1929-52 maps. It was then demolished, as shown on the current O/S map. A new school, St Laurence in Thanet C of E Junior School was built nearby.
