The former National School in Herne was opened for boys and girls, as shown on the 1862-75 map. The building continued to be used as a school, as shown on the 1897-1900, 1907-23 and 1929-52 maps. It was extended and is now Herne C of E Aided Junior School, as shown on the current O/S map.
