The former National School in Penshurst was opened for boys and girlsbefore 1835 and is shown on the 1862-75 map. The school was then extended, as shown on the 1897-1900, 1907-23, 1929-52 and current O/S maps. It is now Penshurst C of E Voluntary Aided School and is still in use.
