During an archaeological watching brief undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust on a service trench in 1990 A stone lined drain of uncertain though possibly Medieval date was uncovered. This drain may have been associated with an outfall from a garderobe piercing the north west wall of the Keep. (1-2)
