A mill is visible in this location (nor theastern side of Mill Lane, directly over the Dour) on historic OS maps dating to the end of the 19th and early 20th century. It is likley that this is the post medieval replacement of an earlier mill on the Dour, constructed in the Medieval period. (location accurate to the nearest 10m based on available information)

A mill is visible in this location (nor theastern side of Mill Lane, directly over the Dour) on historic OS maps dating to the end of the 19th and early 20th century. (1-5) The mill originally dated from the 12th century but was rebuilt in 1803. It ceased milling in 1899 and was demolished in 1953.(6)
