The former site of a Weslyan chapel is marked in this location on a number of late 19th and early 20th century maps of Dover, the chapel is no longer extant, but is visible on OS maps dating to between 1862 and 1952. (1-5) Burial vaults associated with this chapel were uncovered when works were carried out by CAT in the 1990's on the Grand Shaft entrance. (6)
