Brickworks are shown either side of Cooling Road, Wainscott, from the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map onwards (1897-1900). The first works was on the western side and by the 3rd edition OS map (1907-1923) this had been joined by an additional works and a kiln to the east of the road. The works were still visible on 1947 aerial photographs but are now built over.
