Summary

A pair of limekilns in a chalk pit were cut into the downs above Burnt House Farm. They were present in 1868 and disused by 1908. Subsequent operations may have destroyed the kilns. These sites were identified from the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map of c.1861and the 3rd edition of c.1908.
