Summary

An apparently unfinished Neolithic flint axe was found in 1964 during bulldozing work at Lower Fant Road, Maidstone. The axe is now in Maidstone Museum.

An unfinished Ne. flint axe, 5" long, was found on the 6th April 1964 on the Roseholme Estate, Lower Fant Road, Maidstone, by Masters Richard Budnikas and David Leichauer of 43 and 47 Upper Fant Road, respectively, who have presented it to Maidstone Museum. They indicated the exact findspot at TQ 7487 5496 and stated that the implement had been turned up by a bulldozer immediately prior to discovery, from previously undisturbed ground. (1)
