Site of an extensive brickfield on land belonging to the Darnley estate largely to the west of an adjacent barge dock, a site later bisected by the railway. In accordance with the leases brick earth was stripped and top soil replaced to facilitate cultivation. There was no fixed plant employed (such as kilns) as clamp burning was employed, and all equipment was moveable. The only trace is that the ground levels are slightly lower than might be expected.
