Summary

Three Second World War bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, at the west end of the Hythe firing ranges (Monument Number 1531850). The craters are the result of enemy bombing on this part of the Kent coastline. The craters were subsequently levelled after the war.

Three Second World War bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, at the west end of the Hythe firing ranges (Monument Number 1531850) and have been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The craters are centred at TR 1303 3234, TR 1316 3242 and TR 1323 3270 and were the result of enemy bombing on this part of the Kent coastline. The craters were subsequently levelled after the war.
