Summary

The possible bomb crater is centred at TR 0813 2415, and measures approximately eight metres in diameter. It is roughly 200m to the WNW of Grand Parade, and 109m to the SSW of Victoria Road. It lies on the western side of a bank marked on the 1894 Ordnance Survey map of Kent.
It has a narrow banked rim around the edge of the perfectly circular crater. It is thought this may be a result of the loose shingle characteristic of the ground in this area, which would have been upcast by the explosion. On vertical aerial photographs of 2006; the crater is still faintly visible as a slight earthwork (1)
