Site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Lydd Ranges. This was armed with twelve 40mm guns, and was manned by 305 Battery of 98 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment when deployed on 2nd August 1944. It formed part of the Rye Section of 57 Anti Aircraft Brigade Light Anti Aircraft Artillery (1).

This area was surveyed as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project. No sign of the battery was visible on vertical aerial photographs of 1941 or 1946. Due to the mobile and temporary nature of these battery sites, they are only likely to be visible on aerial photographs if they were photographed while the battery was extant. Unfortunately no aerial photographs exist from 1944, when the battery is thought to have been in place.
