A Second World War bomb crater is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 and has been mapped as part the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The bomb crater is located within the Hythe Military ranges (Monument Number 1531850), north of the Sewage Works at Range Road, Hythe at TR 1543 3422. The bomb crater was filled in and levelled by 1945. (1-2)
