Lydd Coastguard Station is only visible on the Epoch 1 (1877) edition of the historic 1:2500 Ordnance Survey mapping, located on the coast at Denge Marsh [1]. Several structures associated with the coastguard station are visible. No remains of the station are visible on any later mapping, including Epoch 2 (1899) [2].
The extent of the station and associated structures were given a monument polygon during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
A Wessex Archaeology Basline Assessment for the Cinque Ports Training Area noted the existence of this site but suggested it was uncrecorded in the HER. (3)
