A Jetty labelled Dolphin Jetty is visible in this location on a number of historic cartographic sources dating to the 19th and early 20th centuries. It appears on a plan of Dover town and harbour produced in 1833 by J. S. Tucker, though does not appear on another produced in 1805 by Rennie. It is also visible on all historic OS maps of this region. The Jetty is still present in this location today. (1-6)
