Brick work first visible on the Ordnance Survey 1877 edition two cottages and one building were still recorded on the Ordnance Survey 1946 edition. The site was no longer visible on Google Earth photography taken in 2007, though Brickfield cottage was still standing. It was given a monument polygon during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
