Summary

An area of cropmarks representing ditches, visible in 1985, located in Sholden. Mapped were: three linear cropmarks running roughly NNE-SSW; two linear cropmarks running NNW-SSE; and two curvilinear cropmarks which formed an open-ended oval enclosure with the open end to the SE. The three linear cropmarks crossed the oval enclosure cropmarks. It is not known whether these cropmarks were contemporary. The features were not visible in 2003.

An area of cropmarks representing ditches, visible on aerial photography taken in 1985 [1], located in Sholden. Mapped were: three linear cropmarks running roughly NNE-SSW in an area spanning 51 x 37m; two linear cropmarks running NNW-SSE in an area 633.5 x 11.5m; and two curvilinear cropmarks which formed an open-ended oval enclosure which measured 70 x 40m with the open end to the SE. The three linear cropmarks crossed the oval enclosure cropmarks. It is not known whether these cropmarks were contemporary. The features were not visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [2].

Located 43m to the SE were two banks visible as cropmarks which were the remains of a former field boundary (MWX43699).
