WWII pillbox visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 and 1946 [1 and 2], located on the beach at Kingsdown. The structure measured approximately 4.5 x 3m. The feature was located at the high water mark between two lines of WWII beach scaffolding (MWX43630) and in an area of WWII earthworks on the beach (MWX43631). The pillbox was no longer visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3] when the area was seen to be in the intertidal zone.

This feature is also recorded by the National Monuments Record as ‘Second World War reinforced concrete pillbox [Sector 6]. East of Kingsdown.’ (1428667).
