Summary

WWII type 22 pillbox visible in 1942, located in Kingsdown. This pillbox was located within a large WWII military site (MWX43633). The pillbox was seen to be either removed or hidden by dense barbed wire in 1946. This feature was not visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003.

WWII type 22 pillbox visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 [1], located in Kingsdown. This pillbox was hexagonal and measured 5m at its maximum dimension. It was located within a large WWII military site (MWX43633). Aerial photographs taken in 1946 [2] showed that the military site had expanded and this pillbox was either removed, or obscured by dense barbed wire. This feature was not visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3].
