A WWII type 22 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs of Dover taken in 1940. This hexagonal pillbox was located on Castle Jetty and measured 4m at its maximum dimensions. (1) It is not present on subsequent aerial photographs suggesting it was demolished after the conclusion of the Second World War. (2)
