WWII military complex visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 and 1946 [1 and 3], located in South Foreland. There were 29 buildings on site, 23 of which were enclosed by banking, one lone bank was also present in the S of the site. The site measured 150m x 210m at maximum dimensions. Some elements of this site are visible on modern OS mapping, and therefore have not been re-mapped by the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. Two extant buildings were still visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [3].

The buildings relate to the regimental headquarters of 540 Coast Regiment Royal Artillery who operated South Foreland, Wanstone and Fan Bay Batteries. (4)
This site was connected to South Foreland Battery (Mke41990) by a length of barbed wire which is recorded within the record for the Battery. Bomb craters (MWX43566 and MWX43567) were found to the E and W of the site. Wanstone Battery (MKe17934) was to the W and a barrage balloon site to the SW (MWX43571).
