Three WWII bomb craters visible on aerial photography taken in 1941, 1945 and 1946 [1, 2 and 3] and located in Dover. The craters varied between 8m and 2.5m in diameter. The features were located within a concentrated area of military activity and were in close proximity to slit trenches (MWX43582), a pillbox within a barbed wire enclosure (Mke42085), a gun emplacement (MKe17297), a military complex (MWX43542) and a barrage balloon site (MWX43530). The features were not visible on aerial photography taken in 1978 [4] or Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [5 and 6].
