WWII earthworks, of unknown function, likely defensive, visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1946 [1, 2] and located in Dover. The site was not visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 [3]. The site was comprised of four banks, one circular ditch and two small structures. One bank was 6m long, another 2.5m. One of the banks was rectangular and formed a small enclosure with an internal maximum length of 7.5m and walls between 5.5m and 1.5m wide. The final bank was circular with an external diameter of 7m and an internal ditch of 3.5m. The circular ditch was 9m in diameter and contains two small rectangular structures less than 1m wide in its centre. The site was 100m x 60m in total. None of the features were visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [4].

To the NE lay the Langdon Coast Artillery Searchlight battery; with the engine, generator and caretakers house visible on the aerial photography (MKe17261).

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
