A WWII pillbox is visible on 1940s vertical aerial photographs [1]. It appears to be of Type 24 form. It is one of several in this immediate vicinity (see also MWX43486 & Mke41986) covering the railway line to the south. The pillbox appears to have been demolished and its location is now covered by lock-up garages within the housing estate of Sandown Lees [2].
