An irregular hexagonal WWII pillbox is located west of Deal and has been mapped from military aerial photographs taken in September 1946 [1]. It was first visible on photographs taken in February 1946 [2], but was presumably built between 1940 and 1941. It is still apparent on aerial photographs from April 2007 [3].
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
