WWII military defence features, situated in the Cinque Ports Golf Links, north of Deal. The features comprise two military structures, a possible circular trench and a structure on top of a mound (possibly a golf tee) and were mapped from a series of military aerial photographs taken in June 1942 [1].

The rectangular gabled buildings measure 9m by 5m and 4m by 1.7m and are situated beside one another. The larger building is first visible on OS historic mapping Epoch 2 from 1899 [2] whilst the smaller one is first visible in February 1941 [3]. Paths and a road are visible around the buildings and infer their use during the war. A circular ditch feature is apparent around 30m to the NE of these buildings. It is situated on top of a mound and may be used as an observation point and was first visible in August 1941 [4]. A length of enclosing barbed wire (354m long) is apparent to the east of these features, and is first visible by February 1942 [5]. To the east is a circular structure positioned on top of a square golf tee that was first visible in August 1941, although the function of which is unknown.

The barbed wire is no longer visible by February 1946 [6] and the circular structure on the golf tee mound by April 1950 [7], whereas the structures and the circular ditch are gone by June 1980 [8].

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
